An old friend dreams in a comfortable chair...
Is there anything more endearing than an older dog, hair going white, gait beginning to slow, sleeping in a favorite spot and dreaming of bygone days chasing squirrels? This elderly dachshie is cuddled on a worn tan chair, paws crossed, having a vibrant dream. Life is good. Maybe tomorrow the dream will be of bones falling from the sky, or an alternate career as a French Chef, or perhaps of flying through the air like Super Duper Doxie or tunneling in the rabbit warrens. But today, the dream is an idyllic memory of a happy event. This piece was inspired by the many collectors of my art that have older wiener dogs that they adore, and by the too large number of older Dachshunds that have been rescued by the wonderful rescue groups ou there but still need forever homes to live out their twilight years. Reproduced from an original illustration by Terry Pond, this 8.5 by 11 print (image area is 8x10) is professionally printed on high quality photographic paper and comes signed and dated with a descriptive Certificate of DachshundicityTM. Also available in red smooth and black and tan.
